Who’s Who

The Church is led by a team of 2 Elders.

Simon Fry leads the team. He, his wife Anna and their four children joined ChristChurch from Kings Community Church Southampton in 2015. Si is passionate about stirring the local church to play its part in fulfilling the great commission both locally and the ends of the earth. In 2008, Si set up a charity that works to train and support indigenous leaders throughout East Africa to share the gospel.

Chris Joyes is the newest member of the team, being prayed into Eldership in September 2018. He is a born and bred Hailsham-ite and works part-time as a Carpenter and part-time as our Worship Pastor. Chris is married to Jenni and they have two daughters and twin boys.

Leadership Team and Pastoral Team

The Elders are supported by a wider group of leaders within the church who are responsible for key areas of church life. They are Nigel Unwin, Rob Williams, Duncan Pratt, Phil & Eloise Reah, Tom Simmons, Steve & Sarah Mewett, Jenni Joyes and Anna Fry.

We also have a great pastoral team who assist the Elder and Life Group Leaders with pastoral support of the church. They are available on a Sunday to pray with people, as well as offering ongoing pastoral support. The pastoral team are Sara & Tom Simmons, Jenni Joyes, Andi Coe, Anna Fry, Brenda & Andy Joyes, Margaret Tye, Pam & Nigel Unwin, Sandra Coltman, Ruth Bodkin and Eloise Reah.

Owen Mudford is our Youth Pastor, having recently graduated at Moorlands Bible College. He is passionate about working with young people in Hailsham. His two passions (after Jesus!) are Rugby and Films.

Eloise Reah has been working as our Children’s Worker since 2016. She is married to Phil and they have two children. She loves reading, cooking and walks that lead to great cafes!

Jenni Joyes is the Church Administrator and is married to Chris. When she isn’t in the church office she is normally chasing after their two young daughters and twin boys! Jenni is passionate about the local church and about cooking!

Rod Tice is the Church Finance Officer. He has 4 grown up children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Although once a keen sportsman he now enjoys a more leisurely way of life, and, when not keeping the church’s books in order, enjoys being retired, watching quiz programmes, and reading.
